After taking my first systema class I have been poking around youtube to get a deeper feel of some of the artists out there. I found this film and it is downright nifty.

That is nifty. Great videos. Over a decade ago, I had the opportunity to meet and receive a brief demonstration by Vladimir Vasiliev in his club north of Toronto.
ReplyDeleteI was immediately stuck by the fluidity and the ability of the students to absorb the hits with very little damage or discomfort. Vladimir was also fast, very fast, but no muscle was used. I was sad not to have an opportunity to learn or experience more.
Although he now has a thriving business with videos and and like, his reputation and following was established by word of mouth and loyal students. This is usually the mark of a legitimate and talented teacher.
