Bio Mechanics of Tripping and Recovery

Everyone was practices throwing or balance breaking should know this information on bio mechanics. I have long been searching for information like this. This is quite an interesting find.

  1. Aikido, or at least the kind I do, doesn't have many trips as is, but I've always been a big fan. I wonder how well the two blend...

  2. There are a great many numbers of aikido folk that use foot sweeps. Probably even more that will position their body to prevent a recovery foot from taking a step.

    In my opinion tripping is only part of the study here. It is an examination of human recovery during structural failure.

  3. How did you like how their simulator always placed the recovery leg way out in front, although the motion captured data always places the recovery foot right under the center of balance?
